At a time when millions of girls in Afghanistan are denied their fundamental right to education, the Women’s Justice Movement (WJM) continues to keep the light of knowledge and hope alive through secret educational classes for girls who have been deprived of attending school.

These classes are part of WJM’s ongoing commitment to defending the right to education, empowering Afghan girls, and challenging the systematic exclusion of women and girls from educational opportunities in Afghanistan.

For us, education is more than learning to read and write. It is a pathway to independence, awareness, self-confidence, and a future in which no girl is denied the opportunity to learn simply because of her gender.

Despite severe restrictions and security risks, WJM firmly believes that no ban should ever destroy an Afghan girl’s dream of education.

Through these educational initiatives, we aim not only to provide learning opportunities but also to preserve hope, strengthen resilience, and empower a new generation of Afghan girls to shape their own futures.

We call upon the international community, educational institutions, human rights organizations, and supporters of women’s rights to stand in solidarity with Afghan girls and support safe, independent, and sustainable educational initiatives inside Afghanistan.

Education is a fundamental human right, not a privilege. Women’s Justice Movement Standing for Education, Equality, and Justice for Afghan Women and Girls.
