The Women Justice Movement (WJM) recently held an online consultation with representatives of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the urgent challenges facing Afghanistan women and girls.
During the meeting,WJM representatives,#human rights defenders,and community members highlighted the ongoing restrictions on women’s rights,access to education,protection needs for women activists,the situation of #Afghanistan women in neighboring countries,and the challenges faced by vulnerable communities,including #LGBTQI+ individuals.
The Danish representatives reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Afghanistan women through humanitarian assistance,advocacy, education initiatives,and international engagement.
They emphasized the importance of ensuring women’s participation in humanitarian efforts and maintaining Afghanistan #women’s voices in international discussions.
We appreciate the openness,engagement, and willingness of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to listen directly to Afghanistan women and discuss opportunities for #future cooperation.
